Have you taken that micro - action I asked you to do yesterday?
Don't you know what I am talking about? Just go to my last post and check it out.
What can a simple micro-action do for you in order to learn Italian?
Let me remind you about a study by Alan Baddely in the 1970s.
Thousand of postal workers had to learn a special keybord in order to manage packages mechanically.
The workers were divided in four groups in order to test wich training would be best.
Group one trained for one hour a day, group two for two hours, group three trained for three hours a day and group four for four hours a day.
Which group learned in less hours of training?
No, not group four.
It was group one.
Group one mastered the keyboard in 40 hours spread over a month, while the other group mastered it in 80 hours spread over two weeks.
What does all this mean?
Yes, the meaning is: LESS IS MORE!
How can you traspose the results of this study to your Italian learning?
Some people come to Italy and go to Italian language schools, immerse themselves in Italian courses lasting 4 to 6 hours a day, some other people just decide to do some Italian every day for at least 15 minutes.
What do you prefer?
Staying in class four hours a day for a month or spending 15 minutes (or more) for more time?
If you have little time a day, I suggest you to decide and learn just 15 minutes a day every day.
If you have the opportunity to take an intensive course, look for a brain friendly course or teacher, otherwise you'll learn much less than doing 15 minutes a day by yourself.
It is up to you, but remember:
You are able to learn Italian and any language you want, because you are a potential genius.
