Has it ever happened to you that you know you should start and do something could change your life, that you will feel much better doing that, but you don't do it?
Let me talk straight, I am not talking about quitting smoke or starting to behave in a total different way, I am talking about you learning and talking Italian.
You know you will feel great if you start and learn Italian now, but you don't do it. What could really help you to start and do it?
I came across to Mary Loverde website and read this article with fervid interest.
Mrs Loverde writes about a woman who hated to exercise. She asked her if she could simply get dressed to exercise three times a week. Let me put this clear, she didn't ask her to exercise, but only to get dressed as if she was going to exercise. Even though the woman was not willingful to do so, as she tought it was worthless, in the end she promised to do so.
Next week Mrs. Loverde asked if she did it, and was asking to just add one minute of walking...She was interrupted: the woman told her that she actually walked 30 minutes per week for three weeks and she actually enjoyed it!
This is the power of microactions.
Do You know that if you just spend 10 minutes a day with Italian, in a month you will have spent in average 5 hours learning Italian? And if you do so for a whole year you will have spent at least 60 hours.
Now I am just going to ask you to write down with a pen on a piece of paper this sentence:
Io parlo l'italiano molto bene
Just copy it and put it on a place you can see it every day.
You did that micro-action that could help you start and learn Italian. Maybe with that coursebook you bought last year and never opened it up.
Maybe you could start with a private teacher, with me for example... why not?;-)
